I took a week-long trip to visit a good friend in Sedona. I hiked every day I was there and got a good bit of photos. Thought that I should share them since this was over 6 months ago!

Iron Cap western ridge was sketchy. There was a few times I had to downclimb 6-12 feet of a 5.9 grade rock wall with sheer drops on either side of the landing area. All while having a 30lb pack on my back and without having the knowledge of the locations of footholds from first climbing it upwards. Not even gonna lie, I was scared.

I was getting sent to Seattle for work and scheduled to be there Wednesday - Friday. Screw that, Iām staying for the weekend to go hiking! It took a Lime scooter through downtown Seattle, a two-hour bus ride, and then an eight mile road walk to get to the trailhead but it was worth it. This was an absolutely stunning 20-mile loop that involved snow field crossings, route finding, sketchy scrambles, and navigating solely off of low-resolution topo maps.
Murphy Loop Trail, Canyonlands, April 16-17. 11 miles.
I was living in Avon, Colorado for the winter and working as a ski instructor at Vail. My good friend Diego lives in Sedona, Arizona and we realized that Moab is pretty much halfway between us so we decided to meet up and hike around for a few days. We planned to hike the Murphy Loop Trail in the Island in the Sky area of Canyonlands National Park. The area is a massive 24,000 acre plateau that rises 1,200 feet above the surrounding landscape at the confluence of the Green River and the Colorado River.
