Section O is 83 miles long and runs from Burney Falls State Park to I-5 near Dunsmuir. October ? - ?. TBD
We skipped this section because the smoke from the massive Carr Fire became too uncomfortable. I was quite reluctant to skip ahead but the air was really bothering Sea Lion and the traimily laid out some very good points:
The fire has engulfed structures so the smoke is riddled with plastics, rubber, and other nasty things. The state issued an air quality advisory warning people to stay indoors as much as possible...we are outside in it 24/7.
Wewill have less miles to hitch ahead to PCT Trail Days.
Wemade a pact to road trip back to hike this section after we reach Canada and then we can summit Mount Shasta for a more climactic ending.
So this post is a placeholder I guess.
