Cowboy Jacuzzis
After a rainy and mostly funless day at Snowbasin, I decided to take another pit stop in Moab to visit my friend Leah and do some more hikes. The hot summer weather was setting in so the Cowboy Jacuzzis were a pretty awesome place to cool down and to gaze at some petroglyphs.
Arches National Park
I had a National Parks Pass from the trip to Zion so I decided to do a sprint through Arches NP at dusk and capture the golden hour light. Also, this timing worked for me because Arches rolled out a reservation system for the popular daytime hours. With limited time, I did the usual tourist thing of parking, taking some pics, and driving to the next parking lot. Double Arch and Delicate Arch both had short <1 mile hikes, and with the waning daylight, I did not make the longer walk to the base of Delicate Arch, maybe next time.
Faux Falls and Ken’s Lake Hike
I’m a sucker for a good waterfall so I took the short sandy hike to Faux Falls. After scrambling around to the upper falls I decided to take a dip under the frigid shower supplied from fresh snow melt in the nearby La Sal Mountains. I then wanted to walk around some more so I decided to circle Ken’s Lake before calling it a day. I was then off to go back to Colorado to squeeze in some more skiing before the season was over.
